Roberta Skaggs, FSO-NS

One of the functions of Navigation Systems is to verify Aids to Navigation in our AOR. This month I wish to bring attention to the location of our AOR (see map) and give credit to those ATON verifiers who have completed 7054 forms to report verifications and discrepancies.

This year flotilla members Mel Milstein, Heinz Janke, Grant Skaggs, George Stancil, Dave Shuster and Randi Aldrich sent in 7054 forms for discrepancies and verifications. Areas Hurricane Bay, Bayside Estates, Water Turkey Bay, North Estero Bay 6-59, Tempustech Marina (Barefoot Boat Club) 10-23, and South Estero Bay have been completed. April is our opportunity to complete the rest of our AOR. If you need to know what PATONS to complete, I've compiled a Light List database that keeps an up-to-date record.

Remember to send the completed 7054 forms to me at bg96skaggs@embarqmail.com or leave in the mailbox. To email you must scan the 7054 form and send as an attachment. Also fill out a 7030 - 31 for your own time, one hour. This is how you receive credit for your observation.

The 2011 Light List is available and a copy for our AOR is in a notebook in the FSO-NS inbox in the computer room. Also in the notebook are reporting kits and examples of properly filled-out forms.
