Twenty Program visits in March included two great events that reached out to many boaters. The Bonita Bay Boat Show, March 4-6, included participation by Jim Mayer, Phill Smith, Bernie Appelman, Dick Sweere, Jim McCaffrey, Ed Walters, Dan Beauchemin, Heidi LaQuadra, Susan Roseberry, John Tyson and Dave Shuster. The Flotilla 96 communications trailer was there and served our purpose well.
Our second program event was held at Mariner’s Cove. Phill Smith introduced public education courses and Jim McCaffrey spoke on boating safety issues. Following the briefing, we conducted 22 vessel examinations there. Program visitations continued at Bass Pro Shops with Neil Arnal and Phill Smith offering PE classes to Bass Pro Shop patrons. We will be adding new partners in an effort to increase our monthly visits and public awareness.
