This is my first monthly report as Public Affairs Staff Officer for Flotilla 96. I look forward to establishing contacts with our local media such as newspaper publications, radio, and TV stations. One of my goals is to prepare more articles and stories for release to our local media to increase awareness of the Coast Guard Auxiliary within our community.
I invite any of our members to inform me of any upcoming events or activities that would warrant coverage with our local media. I also invite members to write articles about our many activities so I can forward them to my media contacts for publication. It is very important to keep the public informed about our classes such as safe boating (ABS) and local knowledge, and our free vessel safety checks.
