Zarela Velasquez was born in Lima, Peru, and has been in the USA since 2004. She recently married and became a US citizen. She attends Florida Gulf Coast University with a major in marketing and a minor in computer information systems.

Zarela loves to travel and has spent time in Germany, France, Italy, Holland and the Czech Republic. She is bilingual and her goal is to speak four languages, so she is interested in the Coast Guard’s program for translators. She works part time at a Japanese Steakhouse called Tokyo Bay in Bonita Springs.
