Twenty-four members attended the first of the National Response Department’s Operations Workshops for 2011 at the Flotilla building on July 13. In addition to a review of the critical skills required in Team Coordination Training, members got their first introduction to the Coast Guard’s line-handling commands.
“Make line one,” “Break line one,” “Pass over line,” and other unfamiliar commands are about to become standard orders aboard our facilities on patrol. One goal of the workshops is to help our coxswains and crewmembers learn and adopt the terms the Coast Guard uses routinely on the water.
