In June we had patrols out on five days with a total of six facilities on patrol. We also had one Rescue 21 watch requested by Station Fort Myers Beach to cover a planned outage. Mission types were primarily safety patrols and training, as well as ATON verification nearing completion for our AOR.
We appreciate our radio watchstanders who step up to cover the watch for our patrols. Those on duty for June were Shuster, Harris, Arnal, Janke and Skaggs. Thanks also to Neil Arnal for covering the radio room during the Rescue 21 watch.
Our Flotilla now has fourteen qualified watchstanders and we will be moving forward quickly to expand the ranks. Watchstanders qualified under the old AUXCOM program are not required to go through the TCO program but any who are interested in updating their skills and achieving the new designation are encouraged to contact Jim Mayer, FSO for Member Training.
The refurbishing of the communications trailer will begin in July with ripping out the old rug and installing new non-skid waterproof flooring, and a good wash and wax job. We are adding air conditioning as well as other items to improve the trailer and make it more comfortable and usable for many projects. I’m looking for some volunteers to assist in the efforts to make it all happen! Contact heidilaq@yahoo.com.
