Larry Urbanek, Flotilla Commander

We joined the auxiliary for a multitude of reasons, but the overriding one was the desire to help the Coast Guard and to serve our country.  We all contribute our time, whether in public education, member training, vessel examinations or other activities.  Even attending meetings, planning activities, studying and traveling are important time-consuming activities.  No matter what you are doing for the auxiliary, your time is important.

We volunteer our time to the Coast Guard, but they need to keep track of what we do to get credit for the cost of our time.  For budget purposes, good hard numbers are necessary.  This is where we come in.

Those who are highly involved need to complete the 7029 and other appropriate forms to record their activities.  Those who are not as active still need to report time spent at meetings, travel or preparation at least every two or three months to be sure their hours are counted.

Last month only a small number of members reported their time.  This month we hope to see an increase in the number of members who send their 7029s to Bob Morrison.  You can help the Coast Guard by reporting your time and ensuring that we are Semper Paratus.
