Randi Aldrich, FSO-MS

Marine Safety is still cranking along at a fast pace. On April 27 David Crockwell, our VCDR, sent an email to all the flotillas in District 7 requesting volunteers for the Marine Safety Detachment (MSD) in Fort Myers. He said the MSD “would like to increase the number of Auxiliarists who will be trained as Pollution Investigators.” He said each Flotilla should submit the name of a candidate for this training to be held each Wednesday at the MSD. This email turned up quite a few candidates, many of whom are close to obtaining their Marine Safety Ribbon.  Candidates for this job must have completed all requirements for the Marine Safety Ribbon. Once the paperwork is submitted for the ribbon, the candidate is ready for the classes at the MSD.

The required courses are: ICS 100, 200, 210 (or 300), 700, 800, Good Mate, IMSEP. If IMSEP was completed before October 2010, the IIMS course must also be completed. Once these requirements have been met, the Auxiliarist should complete the Marine Safety Ribbon Application, attach the certificates to it and forward all to me.  For more information, contact me at randi@randialdrich.com.
