Say hello to John
Abatecola, a new member of Flotilla 96.
John moved here about four years ago from Rhode Island. He retired in late 2006 from his position as
vice president and chief operating officer of Northeast Construction Corp. in
Providence, where he worked for 35 years.
He “un-retired” after moving to Florida, working for about one year as a
project manager on the new oratory building at Ave Maria University.
John joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary based on the recommendation
of a friend in Virginia, who belongs to a flotilla there. John has a 28’ SeaRay here, which he keeps at
Salty Sam’s Marina. He started boating
on a 16 footer, which he owned for several years “up north”.John is married and
