Jim Mayer, FSO-MT

Boat Crew Training Program
The boat crew training program, scheduled to begin in late January, has been postponed until later in the year. The change is in response to 1) other training priorities, in particular coxswain training, public visitation and instructor training, and 2) the number of members interested in the class ---three.

Coxswain Training Program
The classroom segment of Coxswain training is underway and continues until late January, when participants take an oral examination to qualify for on-water training. The training workshop for on-water instructors takes place in January.

Training Sessions for General Meetings
The one-hour TCT course, required for crew and coxswains, takes place in January, and sexual harassment training takes place at the February meeting.

Training for FSO-FN
Allen Thompson completed his training and as of January 1 is FSO-FN.

Training Class for Public Visitation
The training class, scheduled for Saturday, February 5, will be coordinated by Jim Mayer, FSO-MT, Mike Dobrovic, and Dan Beauchemin

Training Class for Vessel Examinations
The training class, scheduled for January 29, will be postponed until later in the first quarter due to other training priorities.

Instructor Training
This is a priority for Flotilla 96, and plans are underway to schedule and design a training program.

AUXOP Training
Flotilla 96, with assistance from Division 9, will host three AUXOP training courses this winter:  Auxiliary Seamanship, Auxiliary Weather, and Auxiliary Communications.  AUXSEA, which consists of (7) classes, is tentatively scheduled to begin in February. AUXOP (Operational Auxiliarist Program), which consists of six courses, is an advanced training program for members of the Auxiliary.
