Staff Reports

Fuel restrictions and building renovation in September curtailed most of the flotilla’s usual activities.

Neil Arnal, Vessel Examinations

Examiners worked at Lovers Key boat ramp on September 8th and 29th.  Only 13 vessel safety checks reported for the month.  We have contacted Fish Tale Marina, Snook Bight Marina, Bonita Bay Marina and Pelican Isle Yacht Club to arrange for vessel safety checks at those sites in addition to our usual Saturday sites.

Larry Urbanek, Member Training

Due to patrol stand-down in September, no on-the-water training took place.  Requalification training resumes in October.  We have one requal for coxswain and three active candidates for crew.  One new coxswain is also in this cycle to be tested.

A new crew class and a new class for telecommunications operators begin in October.  A First Aid and CPR class is also scheduled for October.

Michael Clukey, Public Education

About Boating Safely starts on October 13th and continues on October 20th.  We are working on the schedule for next year.
